Chemistry as physical science: According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, chemistry is typically regarded as physical science since the analysis of chemistry does not entail living items.

However, the differentiation as a physical science becomes somewhat blurry in biochemistry, which investigates the chemistry of living things, as stated by the Biochemical Society. 

The chemical and chemical procedures studied by biochemists are not technically considered “alive,” but knowing them is essential to understanding how life operates.
