5 States of Matter Definition

Matter:

Anything which possesses mass and occupies space is called matter.

States of Matter:

Matter exists in 5 states.

(i) Solid (More common form of matter)               (ii) Liquid (Less common form of matter)

(iii) Gas (Simplest form of matter)                            (iv) Plasma (Advanced form of matter)

(v) Bose-Einstein Condensates

Definition of state of matter Solid (More common form of matter):

The state of matter in which particles are closely packed with each other is called solid.

Definition of state of matter Liquid (Less common form of matter):

The state of matter in which particles are loosely packed with each other is called liquid.

Definition of state of matter Gas (Simplest form of matter):

The state of matter in which particles are far apart from each other is called gas.

Definition of state of matter Plasma (Advanced form of matter):

State of matter containing significantly number of electrically charged particles to affect its electrical properties, is called Plasma State.

Definition of state of matter Bose-Einstein Condensates (Artificially prepared state of matter):

The artificially created state of matter through decreasing the temperature extremely low (near to absolute zero) at which molecular motion becomes very close to none, is called Bose-Einstein condensate.
